Next DIY-O: Return to Cooper Lake State Park

For April, we’ll return to Cooper Lake State Park near Sulphur Springs for some more DIY-O. This time, we’ll use our map on the eastern side of the park, at the Coyote Run Trailhead. Ribbons will be in the terrain from April 10 through April 18. See preliminary info on the event page.

LBJ Grasslands DIY-O date change

UPDATE: Due to prescribed burns at LBJ National Grasslands, our DIY-O event has been pushed back a few days. Ribbons will be in the terrain from Thursday, March 11, to Sunday, March 21. Go to the LBJ DIY-O Event page for full details.

Click over to the Erwin Park Event page to sign up for this week’s DIY opportunity up in McKinney. Controls will be in the park from Sat., Feb 13 through Sun., Feb 21. So if it’s too cold this weekend, you’ll have another chance. Dress appropriately and have fun!

Due to the pandemic, we’re kicking off our Fall 2020 season with Do-It-Yourself (DIY) orienteering events instead of our traditional ones. The new format will follow state and local regulations, adhere to guidance from Orienteering USA, our sport’s national governing body, and hopefully, protect the health of participants and organizers. TJOC 2020 is cancelled

We’re sorry to announce that Texas Junior Orienteering Camp is cancelled for this year. It’s not a surprise, as many group events in 2020 must be rescheduled due to the coronavirus, but of course we’re all disappointed. We’re looking toward next year, though! Reserve these dates for TJOC 2021: June 6-11, 2021. WE’LL BE BACK!
