What is TJOC?
TJOC 2022 is a 6-day residence orienteering camp for talented 13-19 year-old junior orienteers in the U.S. Texas provides unique terrain and a training experience that will significantly improve orienteering skills. One of the longest-running and premier orienteering camps in the U.S., TJOC is a joint effort between NTOA and Boy Scouts of America (BSA) Longhorn Council. We’ve enhanced the skills of some of the best junior orienteers across the country for nearly 20 years!
Who can participate?
TJOC is open for any junior orienteer (age 13-19) in excellent health and physical condition. Training is available at the Fast Start (Yellow), Intermediate (Orange), and Advanced (Green) levels. Any club, school, JROTC team or individual orienteer is welcome and encouraged to attend.
Details
Date: Sunday June 5 – Friday June 10, 2022
Location: Sid Richardson Scout Ranch (SR2 ) (Lakeview Lodge) near Bridgeport, TX, about 90 minutes from DFW Airport. (See map below.)
Cost: $250 per orienteer and $125 per adult coach/chaperone. The camp fee includes lodging, meals, training materials and maps, orienteering coaching, and other adventure training activities. Scholarships may be available to those with identified financial needs.
