Special Information for Boy Scouts
Registering to camp at James Ray
Circle Ten manages the camp and any camping registrations. To camp at James Ray, you will
have to make reservations with the Circle Ten Council 2 weeks prior to the weekend event.
Check the Circle Ten Council website
page. Use the Camping permit link to request camping at James Ray.
The earlier you make reservations, the better your chances of getting a campsite.
Campsites will be assigned by the Ranger upon arrival at the camp.
Be sure to inform the council that you are wanting to camp at James Ray as part of
the orienteering event, otherwise they may say the camp is busy that weekend.
The cost for camping at James Ray is determined by the Circle Ten Council not by NTOA.
Your troop does not have to camp at James Ray to participate in the orienteering event.
Warning: Registering for camping with Circle Ten does NOT register your troop for participating in the orienteering
event. To register for the orienteering event, see the next section below
Registering to participate in the Orienteering Activity

competition and the orienteering registrations.
To participate in the orienteering activity, you will have to register each participant or team using
forms on the NTOA website. Click on the registration tab above to see the registration information and access the registration links.
Pre-registration for the orienteering portion of the meet will open approximately 2 weeks prior to the event.
Warning: Registering for orienteering with NTOA does NOT register your troop for camping at James Ray.
